Vegan Sourdough Grilled Cheese

You will need:

  • sourdough bread2 slices of sourdough bread
  • vegan butter2 tablespoons of vegan butter
  • vegan cheese shreds1/4 cup of vegan cheese shreds
  • garlic powder1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder (optional)
  • onion powder1/4 teaspoon of onion powder (optional)
  • saltA pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Start by spreading vegan butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  2. Sprinkle the optional garlic and onion powder evenly over the buttered side for added flavor.
  3. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on a heated non-stick pan.
  4. Add the vegan cheese shreds on top of the bread in the pan.
  5. Place the second slice of bread on top, with the buttered side facing up.
  6. Cook over medium heat until the bottom slice is golden brown, then flip the sandwich carefully.
  7. Continue to cook until the second side is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  8. Remove from heat and let it cool for a minute before cutting into halves.
  9. Serve immediately while it's still warm.
